Privacy Policy — ONOFFMIX Event Watch

Summary

ONOFFMIX Event Watch does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app runs entirely on your devices and any servers you explicitly point it at.

What we do NOT collect

  • No analytics, tracking, or telemetry
  • No user accounts, sign-ups, or authentication
  • No advertising IDs
  • No location data
  • No HealthKit data (Apple Watch keep-alive uses WKExtendedRuntimeSession, which does not access health data)
  • No microphone, camera, contacts, photos, or other device data

What stays on your device

The following settings are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults:

  • Last session code and cloud relay URL (auto-restore on launch)
  • Recent relay URLs (last 5 successful)
  • Selected app mode (Bridge / Standalone)
  • Timer target settings (countdown minutes, talk minutes, Q&A minutes)
  • Tutorial dismissal preference

This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

Network connections

ONOFFMIX Event Watch makes network connections only to addresses you explicitly configure:

  1. Local Wi-Fi (LAN): Discovers a paired Mac running the Event Watch desktop app via Bonjour mDNS (_eventwatch._tcp). Used only to mirror the timer; no other data exchanged.
  2. Cloud Relay (optional): When you provide a relay URL (default wss://eventwatch-relay.onoffmix.workers.dev), the app connects to that address to forward timer state when LAN discovery fails. The relay only forwards the current timer snapshot; no personal data is transmitted or stored.
  3. Apple Watch sync: Uses Apple's WCSession API to push timer updates to a paired Apple Watch. No data leaves your devices.

No data is sent to ONOFFMIX servers unless you explicitly configure a relay URL pointing to one.

Third-party services

ONOFFMIX Event Watch does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's privacy

ONOFFMIX Event Watch is suitable for all ages (4+). We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that affects users, we will update the "Last updated" date above and announce the change in the app's release notes.
